A Day of Ramadan

The day begins well before the break of dawn for Muslims who fast. Suhoor, the meal before fasting, is filled with healthy and nutrient-rich foods like fruits and dairy products to sustain energy throughout the day of fasting. The fasting starts with Fajr, the first prayer of the day.
During the day, those who are fasting go about their activities as usual, and try to devote more time to prayer and introspection. Zuhr, the midday prayer, and Asr, the afternoon prayer, are performed during this time.
The fast ends with the Maghrib prayer, which takes place after sunset, after which the fast is broken with Iftar. Iftar consists of a large spread of dry fruits, fruits, meat and other hearty items that replenish the body of those who fast.
