Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque’s design and construction “unites the world”, using artisans and materials from many countries. More than 3,000 workers took part in the construction of the mosque. Natural materials were chosen for construction due to their long-lasting qualities, including marble stone, gold, semi-precious stones, crystals and ceramics. The design of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque has been inspired by Persian, Mughal and Moorish mosque architecture. The mosque is large enough to accommodate over 40,000 worshipers.
Emirates Park Zoo
A place of fun, learning and adventure for the young ones! Launched in 2008 as the first private zoo in the UAE. There is a host of animals at the wildlife park, including rare white tigers, giraffes, and elephants. At the petting zoo, children can touch and feed domestic breeds of animals. The Heritage Village is the best place to visit in Abu Dhabi is a journey to the history of UAE. The Heritage Village is located on a 1600 square meters site overlooking the Corniche, near the Breakwater close to Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi.There are workshops where craftsmen demonstrate traditional skills, such as metal work and pottery, while women sit weaving and spinning. The craftsmen are happy to share their skills, and may occasionally give you the chance to try them out.
