The St Regis Dubai appears to have been renamed to ‘Habtoor Palace’

There was some major news going around when we learned that Dubai’s Al Habtoor Group had cut ties with the Marriott Group. There was some major doubts also that were raised to know if the three of its hotels would keep their monikers; namely The Westin, The St Regis Dubai and The W.
Well, the Habtoor City hotels have all been set to have their names changed. That change goes same with the branding as well. The branding for all the three hotels have been removed and they have already been implemented at The St Regis, which has been replaced with ‘Habtoor Palace’ right above the door.
As of now, there has been no news or other indications that indicate that there will be any renaming of the other two hotels. At the time of announcement where they had mentioned that Habtoor and Marriott cutting ties; Khalaf Al Habtoor, the Chairman of Al Habtoor Group had said that, “We maintain a strong and friendly relationship with Marriott International. This decision marks the start of a new ear for Habtoor Hospitality as we focus more on strengthening our own brands and expanding our hotel-management portfolio”.
Now what could be next we expect is that someone else will come in charge to take control of all the operations of this hotel buy this week. This is unconfirmed. But there are several sources that have given cues out there that Hilton Hotels will be the one that would be taking over all of the three properties. Once they take over the operations of all the three of the hotels, the would be bringing in their brands as well on all of these three properties.
Hilton Hotels has not yet made a statement that confirms or denies such reports.
