Strategic partnership forged between UAE and Russia

Russia and UAE signed a partnership on Friday that covers a declaration of Strategic Partnership. The signed partnership covers a great deal of various sectors such as politics, economy, culture, and security. Both the nations also expect a huge cooperation between themselves in the domains of tourism, technological, humanitarian and scientific.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces had signed the declaration on behalf of the UAE in Russia during his two day visit. The Russian president, Vladimir Putin also signed the declaration on behalf of Russia.
The signing of the declaration shows the mutual partnership between the two countries and also translates into showing the determination to develop bilateral relations across all areas of mutual interest. The signed agreement features regular consultations between the foreign ministers of both the nations. While in Moscow meeting with the Russian President, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, they spoke about cooperation and friendship relations including mutual concerns that are related to the latest and international issues.
Upon welcoming His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the Russian President Vladimir Putin stated, “We welcome you to Moscow. We have met a year ago and since then, the region and the world have witnessed rapid developments. I am happy to have the opportunity to discuss with you ways to strengthen bilateral relations and developments in the region. The UAE has been a close partner for us in the Middle East for years, and today we will sign a Declaration of Strategic Partnership as a further step in strengthening our relations.”
Putin also goes on to further mention, “We have a large number of joint projects, joint interests. I do hope and believe that today’s visit will contribute to strengthening our mutual relations.”
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan was pleased to have visited Russia. He is also pleased to see the efforts that are made and being taken by Russia to take the UAE-Russian cooperation to new levels and expressively appreciated that. The two nations have agreed to work closely on the energy domains. Vladimir Putin had mentioned this, noting earlier that the efforts that have been made by UAE, Saudi Arabia and his country (Russia) along with the OPEC member states have helped the global oil market restore their stability.
Attending the meeting and the signing were Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; Dr. Anwar Bin Mohammad Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority.
Attending from the Russian side were Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Yuri Ushakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation responsible for international affairs and Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade.
