JLT Area to No Longer Have Free Parking

- RTA Dubai and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre have signed an agreement that calls for managing and operating the car parks of visitors at JLT
- The parking will be divided into 2 stages – the first covering 1936 slots and to be opened by end 2017, while the second stage has 460 slots with plans to be opened by 2020
- The installation of the new parking zones aims to streamline parking in areas with high occupancy rates and to provide the largest number of parking slots
- Timings for parking will be from 08:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Saturdays to Thursdays, at a regular rate of AED 4 per hour and premium slots for AED 10 per hour up to 3 hours
- The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is the regulatory authority for all matters regarding transport and road safety in the emirate of Dubai
- The Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) district is one of the largest best residential and commercial areas in Dubai
- JLT consists of 80 towers being constructed along the edges of three artificial lakes – Lake Almas West, Lake Almas East, JLT Lake
- More than 92,500 live and work out of the Jumeirah Lakes Towers Area
- JLT has residential apartments, hotels, medical centres, retail outlets, 5 playgrounds, 3 mosques, a 55,000 meter park, a police station and a civil defense station
