Foundations laid for UAE Pavilion at Expo 2020

- Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, laid the foundation for the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai on 17 Dec 2017
- The ceremony witnessed the signing of official agreement for UAE’s participation in the Expo, which was done by Dr Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber and Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy
- The pavilion covers an area of more than 15,000 square meters; and is made up of 4 floors with the top storey dedicated for hospitality
- The entire structure is expected to be completed by the end of 2019
- The UAE Pavilion is designed in the shape of a flying falcon, symbolising the UAE’s leadership and pride
- Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum is the Chairman of Expo 2020, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group
- Dr Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber is the Minister of State and Chairman of the National Media Council
- Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy is the Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director-General of the Expo 2020
- Arabtec Construction, a subsidiary of Arabtec Holding is building the Pavilion; which won the contract after competing against national and international companies
