First group of UAE pilgrims arrive in Madinah for Haj

A towering construction crane toppled over on Friday during a violent rainstorm in the Saudi city of Mecca, Islam’s holiest site, crashing into the Grand Mosque and killing over a hundred people, ahead of the start of the annual hajj pilgrimage later this month.
The first batch of pilgrims from the UAE arrived in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, via the Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz International Airport.
Members of the UAE Haj Mission in Madinah received the pilgrims.
The mission is working round the clock to provide pilgrims with all amenities in order to perform the Haj, the fifth pillar of Islam.
Over 900,000 pilgrims arrive at holy lands
The number of pilgrims coming from abroad for this year’s Haj season 2015 since the start of their arrival reached 909,604 till yesterday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday. Details
