F1 cars arrive in Abu Dhabi ahead of grand prix

Excitement for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is reaching fever pitch as the race cars arrive in the capital ahead of next weekend’s season finale.
Six flights have arrived at Abu Dhabi International Airport over the past few days, bringing cars and race equipment from Brazil, where the previous race took place, ahead of the championship-deciding race at Yas Marina Circuit on Sunday.
The Yasalam Festival is already under way, offering family activities and entertainment at a variety of locations across Abu Dhabi, while the after-race concerts will see Lionel Richie and Rihanna topping the bill.
The fan zone on the Corniche includes simulators and contests, plus car exhibitions, a kids’ driving school and merchandise.
Yasalam, now in its eighth year, has become a major event on the capital’s leisure calendar, attracting residents and visitors to the three-day-long car extravaganza.
Meanwhile, on the track all eyes will be on reigning champion Lewis Hamilton and challenger Nico Rosberg, as the team-mates battle it out for the Formula One title.
