Abu Dhabi’s AED 1.6 million Double Decker bus Mobile Court

Abu Dhabi: If you can’t go to court then the court will come to conduct the litigation procedure.
That is the innovative concept which underpinned the new non-conventional court, which was launched in the United Arab Emirates.
The Abu Dhabi Mobile Court serves all the district in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and provide all legal and Sharia-based judicial services and litigation procedures. The services include authentication, documentation of marriage and divorce contracts. The litigants need not to go to courts in Abu Dhabi.
The Abu Dhabi Mobile Court plays a crucial role in disseminating legal culture among the school and university community. In the first half of last year, the mobile court visited 20 schools and delivered a string of legal cultures which benefited 1341 students, reported local Arabic dailyAlbayan.
The mobile court proved useful in dealing with lawsuits related to labour laws involving a big number of workers who can all report to the conventional court. Court sessions are being held in the courtyard of companies, in the presence of concerned parties.
A double-decker bus has been redesigned and transformed into the pilot mobile court at a cost of AED1.6 million.
The environment-friendly mobile court is 4.5 metre high, 14 metre long and 2.5 metre wide.
The concept is part of an initiative by Sheikh Mansour, to encourage government entities to upgrade and develop their services.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister, inaugurated Abu Dhabi’s first mobile courtroom during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace. Wam
