Al Ain Zoo
Al Ain Zoo was founded in 1968 by the late Sheikh Zayed, the Father of Nation (UAE), is a true family destination, providing entertainment and learning experiences in a natural outdoor environment to its visitors.
Being concerned about the wildlife and nature of his homeland all his life, the late Sheikh Zayed established this unique zoo in the Middle East with the vision of creating natural habitats for animals to live freely. Since its founding, Al Ain Zoo has been a centre for endangered species conservation, most notably the successful breeding of desert antelopes and gazelles, such as the endangered Arabian oryx.
Al Ain Zoo is a proud member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquaria (WAZA), and has set up a number of strategic partnerships with leading zoos conservation agencies and associations from across the world, including the World Conservation Union and Species Survival Commission, Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, Edinburgh Zoo, the Northern Rangelands Trust of Kenya and the Sahara Conservation Fund.

Arabian Wildlife Park
The creation of the Arabian Wildlife Park in Abu Dhabi is the result of years of conservation and re-vegetation work that continues to this day. Taking up approximately half of Sir Bani Yas Island in Abu Dhabi (UAE), the 4,200 hectare park is surrounded by a 32 km fence, and is home to several thousand free-roaming animals that are indigenous to the Arabian Peninsula. These animals include the endangered Arabian Oryx, Sand Gazelle, Arabian (Mountain) Gazelle, as well as predators and scavengers such as the cheetah and hyena.
