‘Weekends at the Oasis’ is where the community comes together. With a hub of interactive activities, workshops, food and markets, fresh produce from the farms, crafts and artisanal products and boutique novel concepts from the Al Ain Community, the event provides a great family day out for people of all ages.

The ‘Art in the Oasis’ for children and teenagers is designed to inspire the youth under the scenic palms and greenery. Join the fun, starting from the West Gate and into the plaza of Al Ain Oasis, there is something for the whole family to enjoy.

Vendors selling fresh local produce, palm related products, products with design elements that are inspired by the Oasis

Explore the Colours of the Oasis
Capture the colours of Al Ain Oasis using a range of paints, waxes, alcohol-based ink, salts, and watercolours, in an informal setting. Spend as much time as you desire on your creations.

Paper Leaves
In the manner of artist Henri Matisse, draw your own palm leaves on coloured paper.
Learn how coloured paper is cut and folded upwards following outlines of palm leaves, and then placed on contrasting coloured paper to create 3D leaves. These two unique leaves will then be featured on a large surface to form a collaborative public piece.

Date Jewellery
Get inspired by all the palm trees around you at the Oasis and create your own jewellery using date palm seeds.

Palm Frond Painting – March 25
with artist Rania Jishi 
With a palm leaf frond as your canvas, use acrylic paints to create your own imagery inspired by the natural beauty of Al Ain Oasis. Your personal interpretation of the palm leaf frond’s shape can inform the nature of the image to be painted.

Painting Oasis Date Palm Trees – March 24
with artist Jack Lee
Renowned painter and art teacher Jack Lee will teach beginners master class on oil paints using the nature of Al Ain Oasis as inspiration. Find your easels and paint stations set up in the midst of the tranquil Al Ain Oasis, a perfect spot for dabbling en plein air colour and shadows.

Falcon and Hawk presentations
The programme is presented by a professional staff that captivate and entertain the group.After the presentation, the audience have an opportunity to see these birds up and close and interact with the handler and ask questions.

Traditional Crafts
Traditional craft makers demonstrate palm weaving techniques, as well as sell the products they make.
Tali: Learn how to make Tali wristbands. Use the colourful Tali threads to create modern wristbands.

Traditional Live Cooking
Enjoy traditional live cooking displays of Emirati desserts. Freshly made goods are sold to the public.

Henna and Horse Rides 
Visitors can stop by for a quick Henna hand design application, and others can enjoy horse rides through the Oasis.
