Wedding halls in Abu Dhabi under scanner

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has recently started a campaign to raise food safety awareness among those who manage wedding halls and approved kitchens in Abu Dhabi.
This is part of the authority’s committed efforts to ensure safety of food handled in the emirate, said a press release issued by ADFCA on Monday.
During the campaign running throughout the summer season, ADFCA officials will ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed by the owners of wedding halls. The facilities that supply food for wedding halls will also be under the scanner.
The inspectors will check personal hygiene of the staff, general cleanliness of food handling areas, transport vehicles and safety of equipment used to serve food. In the kitchens, food storage, preparation, cooking and handling will come under the scrutiny of ADFCA officers with a focus on educating the staff about food safety rules and procedures as well as the best practices while handling food.
As wedding halls host a large number of people, ADFCA’s efforts have a great role to play in raising food safety levels in the emirate, said the press release.
