The VOX Cinema’s team is delighted to be rolling out extensive progression plans in the UAE with the announcement of multiple new cinemas opening the latter part of 2015 and early 2016. Some of our new projects include a brand new VOX Cinemas at Mall of the Emirates and several refurbishments of existing cinemas which will offer all of our best concepts, the highest standard of technology together with exceptional service levels. VOX now operates 97 screens across nine locations in the United Arab Emirates located at Marina Mall & Yas Mall – Abu Dhabi, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre’s Deira, Mirdif, Ajman & Fujairah, Mercato Mall & Al Hamra Mall, VOX also has 17 screens in Oman’s City Centre Muscat and Qurum and15 screens in Lebanon’s City Centre Beirut increasing our regional screen count to 127 screens, across 12 locations, in 3 countries. In March 2014, we announced an investment of over 750 million AED in new cinemas, with the investment expected to transform the cinema landscape across the region, increasing the company’s new development pipeline to twelve cinemas across the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain & Egypt. Upon completion of this approved expansion plan, VOX Cinemas will operate over 250 screens across the MENA region, an increase of 400% in under 4 years since Majid Al Futtaim took full control of the cinema business.

The secret to our successful is threefold. Firstly, our intention at all times is to meet the high expectations and standards set by our owner Mr. Majid Al Futtaim, who has set the vision for all Majid Al Futtaim businesses, when he said that his desire is to always “My dream is to create great moments, for everyone, everyday”. This vision guides our team’s every day activities. Secondly, a major secret to the VOX success story is our People. Our team passionately wants to exceed guest expectations, and create exciting and vibrant entertainment destinations that transport our guests from their everyday lives into the magical world of movies. Lastly, the way we differentiate our cinemas is crucial to meeting our guests expectations, by tailoring every cinema location to the surrounding market place and to our guest’s preferences by offering a mix of different cinema concepts from our premium VIP VOX GOLD concept, to our immersive VOX MAX big screen cinema experience, through our newly introduced VOX 4DX cinemas, our traditional cinemas, and more recently our new myVOX cinemas, available for birthdays, parties, corporate and private cinema screenings. These concepts are summarized below.

• VOX MAX- The Big Cinema Experience. All cinema chains around the world have a large cinema experience and VOX has invested in the best of sound technology with Dolby 7.1 and Dolby Atmos, dual stack projection systems, high definition cinema screens along with tiered seating in their VOX MAX experience which was launched in 2009 as ExtremeScreen and later rebranded to VOX MAX. There are two tiers of seating to choose from which give guests the option to upgrade their experience to larger leather seats with tables.
• VOX GOLD- The Luxury Cinema Experience. The full experience of VOX GOLD allows our guests to bypass the regular box office queue, and instead go straight to our lounge exclusive only to VOX GOLD guests where they can spend time relaxing before the movie and they can select from our full restaurant style menu. Our gourmet food will be delivered to our guests during the movie at a time they prefer and at any point during the experience they can avail of the call button placed next to their seat to seek further assistance from our hotel trained staff. In the VOX GOLD theatre no more than 40 guests at a time will be seated to ensure privacy and intimacy with those they are attending the movie with. The experience is further enhanced by the fully reclining large leather chairs that can be adjusted to the preference of the guest.
• VOX 4DX- As part of VOX’s mission to provide a myriad of movie watching experiences, in 2013 VOX Cinemas obtained the exclusive rights to the 4DX concept from Korea. This concept takes technology and cinema to a new level whereby the seats move with the movie showing on the cinema screen, there is the added effects of wind, light, scent and bubbles to fully immerse guests in the movie.
• myVOX- To cater for private cinema hire, VOX launched the myVOX brand in 2013 which has about 30 seats and caters mainly for kid’s birthday parties, gaming tournaments and sporting events. This can be rented at any time and party packages can be added with party food & beverage and birthday cakes.
• VOX Plus- The Premium Cinema Experience. VOX Plus is an affordable yet premium experience with semi-reclining seats, a full menu that is served to the patron’s seat, exceptional service levels and an exclusive VOX Plus lounge for patrons within the cinema.
• Traditional 3D Cinemas – The Immersive Cinema Experience. VOX 3D Cinemas features Dual Projector 3D technology “3D2P” and DepthQ® 3D which is the world’s fastest polarization technology. It showcases the highest image quality standards and can screen the next generation 3D movies in high frame rate.

Most films are available at a location in each of the above concepts, and additionally VOX Cinemas offers most movies in 2D, 3D and 4D, allowing guests to choose how they wish to enjoy every cinema experience. Action films may prefer to be seen in our MAX cinemas, romantic comedies may be preferred in our luxurious VOX GOLD Cinemas, and of course the latest animated adventure is perfectly suited to our new 4DX cinemas.

Addressing customer feedback, we are also providing our customers with multiple choices by offering additional ticketing options including online ticketing through this website, iPhone and Android ticketing applications, a mobile website, foyer kiosks and onsite sales. Our loyalty program, VOX Rewards, rewards loyal cinema goers through complimentary tickets, exclusive offers on food and beverages as well as a range of special offers and movie updates. The VOX Cafes and candy bars, have similarly been upgraded to offer guests a large variety of traditional cinema favorites, coupled with more contemporary food and beverage favorites such as homemade gelati, crepes, fresh juices, salads, sandwiches, french fries, coffees, muffins and gourmet popcorn.
