UAE ties with New Zealand discussed at Abu Dhabi meeting

The outcomes of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed’s trip to New Zealand last month were discussed during a ministerial meeting on Sunday.
Dr Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, met New Zealand foreign minister Murray McCully in the capital, expressing the UAE’s interest in developing relations between them.
Mr McCully applauded the two countries’ friendly ties and said New Zealand was looking forward to building strong partnerships with the Emirates, reported Wam, the state news agency.
Other ministry officials also attended the meeting.
Sheikh Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, had been in Auckland last month. He also visited Australia, where he met his counterpart Julie Bishop in Canberra to discuss areas including trade.
