UAE Private sector holidays for Eid announced

A two-day private sector holiday has been announced for Eid Al Fitr in UAE to mark the end of Ramadan, 2016.
A statement from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation stated that the first and second days of Shawwal 1437 AH will be an official paid holiday for all workers in the private sector.
Although no formal announcement of the start of Eid has been made, the first day of Shawwal is expected to be Wednesday, July 6, 2016. However, this will be dependent on the sighting of the crescent moon.
Accordingly, July 6th and 7th are the expected private holidays for UAE. July 6th and 7th, being Wednesday and Thursday, followed by the weekend makes it a 4-day off for private sector employees in UAE.
