UAE Passport Ranks as the Most Powerful in the Middle East

- UAE passport has advanced in ranking in 2017 to the first spot in the Arab world and 22nd globally
- The ranking of the UAE passport was released by the Global Passport Power Rank 2017
- The feat comes as a result of the efforts exerted by the UAE diplomacy to establish strategic relations and partnerships that enhance the status of the State at the international level
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) launched the UAE Passport Force initiative, with the view to place the State’s passport on the list of the five most important passports in the world by 2021
- The Global Passport Power Rank is an annual index that defines the ranking of passports of all nations of the world based on the number of countries that the passport allows the holder to visit without a pre-required visa
- Germany and Singapore secured the spot of the most powerful passports in the world in 2017, with a visa-free score of 159
- Afghanistan passport came last in the Global Passport Power Rank 2017, with a visa-free score of 22
- The UAE passport allows its holder to visit 128 countries around the world without a pre-entry visa requirement
- The UAE 2021 Vision, which aims to make UAE one of the best countries in the world by the golden jubilee of the Union, has stimulated the ministry to strengthen the State’s position in the international arena
