Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, on Sunday met with a ministerial delegation from Ethiopia to discuss enhancing cooperation in various economic fields, particularly in agriculture, food security, tourism and civil aviation sectors.

The Ethiopian delegation included industry minister Ahmed Abtew, minister of finance and economic cooperation Abdulaziz Mohammed, Ethiopian government officials and Ethiopian Ambassador to the UAE Abdul Qader Rasqwa.

During the meeting, which was held in the ministry’s general office in Dubai, the two sides discussed the importance of strengthening the role of the private sector to support intra-regional trade and joint investments between the two countries.

They also reviewed a number of outstanding issues, ways to overcome obstacles in trade and investment movement between the UAE and Ethiopia, as well as new prospects for economic cooperation, especially in industry and the production of clean energy.
