UAE Creates New World Record in Photographs

- The record for the “Longest line of Photographs” is now held by UAE, aided by Majid Al Futtaim, Procter & Gamble and Carrefour
- Customers who visited Carrefour at Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Festival City Mall between 30th July and 9th August were asked to write one prominent persons name on a plaque who showcased a joyful moment in their life
- A snapshot was also taken on the spot as a memory to add to the “Greatest Moments” campaign – over 10850 pictures were taken in total, breaking The Guinness World Record for “The Longest Line of Photographs” at approximately 10:50 AM on 9th August
- The record-breaking line of photographs measures 1,655.192 metres’ long, and will be on display in the atrium of Dubai Festival City until 16th August
- The previous record for the “Longest Line of Photographs” was created by Martin Clairmont and Marc-André Paillé in Canada, at a length of 1530.2 m, on 18th November, 2016
- By spreading happiness in Dubai with the “Greatest Moments” initiative, the campaign aims to indirectly with the Happiness Ministry in Dubai, set up by ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
- The Guinness World Records is an annual publication that details the records and achievements of people, as well as other beings and natural occurrences on Earth
- UAE has held over 400 Guinness World Records since its inception
- Some of the monumental records that UAE currently holds are the world’s tallest tower, world’s tallest hotel, highest restaurant from ground level, most expensive headwear sold at an auction, largest flag suspended, and largest synchronised car dance
