Traffic Update: UAE Roads Face Massive Jams

- Massive traffic jams have been reported in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah on the morning of Wednesday, 17th January 2018
- In Dubai, traffic snarls affected drivers on Al Awir road from Al Warqa, the Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, and on the Dubai-Al Ain Road
- In Abu Dhabi, traffic is moving slowly on the E10 from Reem Island to the Eastern Mangroves
- Tailbacks were reported with heavy congestion on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road from the National Paints roundabout in Sharjah to Dubai
- Abu Dhabi is the capital city and the largest emirate in the United Arab Emirates
- Dubai is the second-largest city in UAE by area and largest in the country by population
- UAE has been facing heavy fog during the week, which is one of the major causes for increase in traffic
- Earlier in the week, thick fog affected traffic flow in Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Business Bay area and Ras Al Khor Road leading to and from Dubai
- The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued an advisory for residents as foggy days are set to continue for next few days, with a drop in visibility up to 200m
