Traffic Fines Reduced by 50% in Abu Dhabi for National Day

- Abu Dhabi Police have announced 50% discount on all traffic fines in the Capital, adding to the celebrations of the National Day weekend
- The discount is applicable on offences committed from 1st August 2016 till 1st December 2017
- Residents can benefit from this discount by paying the fines within the next 60 days, starting from 2nd December 2017
- The discount also includes car impoundment fees charged within the period of August 2016 to December 2017
- The Abu Dhabi Police is the regulatory authority in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, who are mainly responsible for all matters related to safety and security of the residents of Abu Dhabi
- The offer on traffic fines coincides with the celebrations of UAE National Day and the 60th anniversary of Abu Dhabi Police
- The Abu Dhabi Police force was established in 1957 by the late Sheikh Shakhbout bin Sultan Al Nahyan, then ruler of Abu Dhabi
- UAE National Day is celebrated on 2nd December every year, in honour of the union of 6 of UAE’s 7 emirates on the same day in 1971
- 2017 was marked as the Year of Giving in UAE, an initiative by the President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan
