Thousands to take Part in First International Marathon

Excitement level is peaking in Srinagar as there are less than 48 hours to go for the first international half marathon, aimed to promote a happy and healthy lifestyle in Jammu and Kashmir.
Runners can be seen in the mornings, preparing for the marathon that will be held on Sunday along the banks of the iconic Dal Lake.
A member of the Foreshore Athletic Group, Yawar told NDTV, “We are getting training from professionals, who boost us always… We want such events should happen in Kashmir.”
“I AM THE CHANGE” is theme of the run organised by BIG 92.7 FM, to provide a platform for the locals to stand for social causes like saving Dal Lake, fighting drug abuse, and keeping the city clean. It will also promote traffic awareness, and respect for senior citizens and women. Details
