Thousands of Iftar Meals Handed out to Passengers at Sharjah Airport

- Sharjah International Airport has been distributing thousands of Iftar meals to fasting passengers and travellers throughout Ramadan 2017
- The food distribution campaign is in line with the initiative ‘Your Iftar Is On Us’, which aims to embrace the values of the Holy Month of Ramadan
- Sharjah International Airport’s initiative to distribute Iftar meals is part of their strategy and social role in creating a good impression for travellers about the meaning of Ramadan
- Every year during Ramadan, airport employees distribute Iftar meals to departing passengers, and welcomed arriving passengers with Arabic coffee, dates and water
- Ramadan is a holy month observed by all Muslims, which falls in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, during which they fast and focus on the Five Pillars of Islam
- Ramadan 2017 is celebrated in UAE from 27th May till 24th June
- Iftar is the time of the day when Muslims break their fast, which is at around 07:00 PM in UAE
- Also part of the ‘Your Iftar Is On Us’ initiative, Ajman Police have distributed more than 1400 Iftar meals to drivers in the emirate
- Dubai’s RTA has been distributing 4000 free Iftar meals at bus stops and metro stations in the city during Ramadan 2017
