The Abu Dhabi Run, now in its 20th year, is the biggest outside of Canada. The major fundraising event to support cancer research in the UAE is dedicated in memory of Terry Fox, an inspirational cancer patient who initiated the first fundraising marathon in 1980 running across Canada after his leg was amputated.

It is participated by tens of organisations and schools, families and individuals, who run, jog, walk and even roller blade and skateboard. This year’s run includes the support of Al Ain University Teaching Hospital at TAWAM.

Money raised at the Run is used to support cancer research in the UAE. Participants are not required to pay any entry fee or required to pay a minimum donation.
