Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road detour to open in April
Construction work on the final stage of the main traffic diversion at Al Houdh roundabout on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road has been completed.
The traffic detour is expected to be opened by the Roads and Transport Authority in April.
The detour extends 2.8km in both direction on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and 1.5 km on Al Yalayis Road and is set to open early next month.
Traffic heading towards the existing Al Houdh roundabout from all directions will be diverted to a mini roundabout with signals.
This will allow for ongoing roadworks around the flyover to be completed in the last quarter of 2016.
