Seven New Schools to Open in Abu Dhabi for 2017-18

- Seven new private schools are set to open in the emirate of Abu Dhabi at the start of the 2017-2018 academic year, most of which are new branches of existing schools
- The new schools are Royal Academy in Zayed City, Stepping Stones Private School in Al Bahya, Polaris Private Academy in Al Falah, Al Manara Provate School in Zayed City, Repton School on Reem Island, Garden City British School and Al Takamul Private School in Al Ain
- Only Repton School on Reem Island will open up seats for senior school students, all the other new schools will offer seats only for kindergarten and primary school students
- The fee at Garden City British School starts at AED 23,100 and goes up to AED 25,410, while the fee at Al Takamul Private Private School is between AED 16,850 and AED 19,500
- The Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) is the regulatory body that oversees the functioning of all educational institutions in the emirate of Abu Dhabi
- The Abu Dhabi emirate has 265 public schools, 185 private schools, 32 adult education centres, 18 advanced education establishments and 22 higher education institutions
- The first branch of Polaris Private Academy in downtown Abu Dhabi has been operating since 2011, with a strength of more than 1200 students from kindergarten to Grade 12
- The Repton School, an English National curriculum school, had about 500 students as of the 2016-17 academic year, with a fee structure ranging from AED 55,000 to AED 67,000
- The highest ranked schools in Abu Dhabi in 2017 include the British International School, Ajyal International School, Brighton College Abu Dhabi, Aldar Academies and Emirates Future International Academy
