Scientific researchers awarded at Abu Dhabi book fair

The work of researchers focused on policing and security was recognised at an awards ceremony hosted by the Minister of Interior, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed.

Awards for the best scientific research in the field were presented at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. There was fierce competition between the 149 participants for just nine honours as part of the police-related cultural event.

The Minister of Interior’s Scientific Research Award provides ministry staff the chance to contribute to the development processes in the UAE’s police and security sector.

Areas investigated by researchers included sociology, psychology, security media and mass communication. Research papers covering police operations on criminal investigations, traffic safety and jurisprudence were also entered.
