Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council : A historic first meeting

The first-ever meeting of the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council in Jeddah was chaired this evening by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Mohammad Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of Saudi Arabia and President of Saudi Council of Economic and Development Affairs.
The Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council’s Organisational Structure had been declared along with the objective of implementing targeted programmes and projects with the objective of accelerating joint co-operation.
While ensuring that there is a proper and stable improvement in the areas of welfare and happiness as well as aiming to promote the two countries’ global structure in the places of the economy, human development, and political, security and military integration.
The council also looks forward to strengthen the cooperation in the areas of politics, defence and security in a way that only further beefs u[ the global sovereign between the two nations and make the best use of the opportunities in partnering between the two countries by giving a clear-cut sustainable mechanism based on performance assessment and an integrated approach in benchmarking and growing.
The minutes were signed at the end of the meeting with Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed and Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.
Attending the meeting were Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Shaikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Shaikh Shakhbout Bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and a number of ministers.
The council includes 16 ministers from prioritised sectors from both countries as follows; from Saudi Arabia: Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Saud Bin Nayef, Minister of Interior; Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan Al Saud; Mohammed Al Tuwaijri, Minister of Economy and Planning; Dr Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Investment; Adel Bin Ahmad Al Jubair, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Falih, Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources; Ahmad Bin Aqeel Al Khatib, Board Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority; Mohammad A. Al Jadaan, Minister of Finance; and Yasir Bin Othman Al Rumayyan, Chief Executive and Secretary-General of the Board at Public Investment Fund.
From the UAE, the council includes the following members: Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy; Dr. Anwar Bin Mohammad Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Obaid Bin Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs; Hussain Bin Ebrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education; Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State; and Ali Bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council.
