Road Rage on UAE Roads on Weekdays

- Wednesdays are the most dangerous day on UAE roads, while Sundays are the safest, according to Ramadan Claims and Accidents Analysis Report
- Accidents are most likely to happen between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM, with the highest claim rate of 16.1%
- The report was conducted by RoadSafetyUAE, Gargash Insurance Brokers and QIC Insured
- The report, which was a cumulation of 1845 claims during Ramadan 2016, showed average claims at 3.9% on Wednesdays and 2.7% on Sundays
- The average claims for the other days were – Monday at 3.3%, Tuesday at 3.2%, Thursday at 3.7%, Friday at 3.4% and Saturday at 3.8%
- The claims rates during the hours of the day are – 2.9% from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM, 6.7% between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, 16.1% from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 14.6% between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM, 14.9% from 11:00AM to 12:00 PM, 11.4% between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, 11.6% from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 8.5% between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, 6.1% from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM and 7.2% in general
- By nationality, Indians have the highest amount of claims at 39%, followed by Pakistanis at 15%, Emiratis at 11%, Egyptians at 7%, Jordanians at 4%, and other nationals account for 25%
- Accidents tend to be higher during Ramadan because of fasting and dehydration, which affects the concentration and driving abilities of people on the road
- People who are above the age of 40 are the most likely to get into such accidents and are therefore warned to be more careful during such times
