Renowned doctors assemble in Dubai

Doctors from the UAE and 33 other countries, including Australia, South Africa, Italy, Ireland, France, India, Pakistan, China and Malaysia, including all Arab countries, have come together with nine of the world’s best cardiac and chest surgeons in Dubai. They will discuss rare operations conducted at the Dubai Health Authority and in different countries around the world.
The discussion will be on transplantation of heart valves of animal and artificial tissues and bypass surgery for the elderly and children. It will also include switching valves and coronary artery bypass surgery for children, which is the first of its kind surgery in the UAE and the Gulf region. It was conducted by local and European doctors.
This will be in the Core Curriculum Review Course in Cardiothoracic Surgery scheduled to be held in Dubai from April 17-19 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre under the sponsorship of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Head of Dubai Health Authority. The conference will be also held in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Dubai Health Authority, the International Family Medicine Conference & Exhibition – IFM, the International Hospital Federation (IHF) and the Council of GCC Health Ministers.
It is for the first time that this training programme will be organised outside the United Kingdom and the USA since its inception 26 years ago. Dubai has been chosen to be the first international city to host the world’s most important event in cardiac surgeries, Prof Abdallah Raweh, Director of Arab Countries Core Review said.
