Times for paid parking and public transport in Abu Dhabi will change for Ramadan.

Motorists will be spared Mawaqif parking fees around mosques during taraweeh prayers.

Parking time during Ramadan 2016:

Paid parking times during the holy month will be split into two periods — from 9am until 2pm, and 9pm until 2.30am, according to the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport.

On Thursdays, the second period runs from 9pm until midnight.

Free parking:

Parking will be free from 12.01am on Fridays until 8.59am on Saturdays.

Those attending the nightly taraweeh prayers are exempt, provided they do not obstruct the flow of traffic.

Residents-only parking areas for permit holders operate between 9pm and 8am.

Bus services in Abu Dhabi will be suspended during iftar and suhoor.

In Abu Dhabi city, service will be halted from 6pm to 8.30pm and from 2.30am to 5.30am, except for bus number X90.

There will be no bus service in Al Ain and its suburbs from 6pm to 8.30pm and in the Western Region from 6.30pm to 8pm.
