Qatar Airways Begins Refund Process to Passengers

- Qatar Airways announced on their website that they will be refunding ticket fares to passenger, from 6th June, 2017, and priority will be given to passengers with tickets from 6th June to 5th July
- A massive crowd of Dubai residents gathered in the Deira office of Qatar Airways on 6th June, 2017, with Emirates ID and flight tickets as proof, to get refund for the pre-booked tickets
- Passengers who have already booked their tickets on Qatar Airways have been advised to get their refund online instead of queueing up at the airlines local office
- Qatar Airway announced that all the people affected will be provided with other options, including a full refund on any unused tickets and free rebooking to the nearest alternative destination on the airline’s network
- Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt have cut diplomatic and transport ties with Qatar, claiming Doha’s regional policies fuel extremism and terrorism
- Etihad, Emirates, Fly Dubai and Air Arabia suspends flights to Qatar and Qatar Airways suspends all flights to Saudi Arabia
- UAE has given 48 hours to the diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi and 14 days for the citizens of Qatar in UAE, to leave the country
- Emiratis are now banned from visiting or even passing by Qatar at all means
- UAE accused Qatar of spreading al-Qaeda’s ideology through its media and harbouring wanted extremists
