Pink Caravan Ride Prepares for Eighth Edition
- Organisers of the Pink Caravan Ride, have confirmed that the eighth edition of the event will take place from 28th February until 6th March 2018
- The starting date for the Pink Caravan Ride 2018 was approved by Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi
- In 2018, the Pink Caravan Ride will be condensed and intensified into one day for each of the seven emirates, sharing its message of awareness across the country
- This year’s Pink Caravan Ride coincides with the ‘Year of Zayed’, which was declared to mark 100 years since the birth of the country’s founding father
- The Pink Caravan Ride is UAE’s most extensive annual cancer awareness campaign, which promotes the importance of early detection of breast cancer
- The Pink Caravan Ride is a nationwide initiative in UAE by the Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP)
- Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi is the wife of Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah
- Sheikha Jawaher is the founder and Royal Patron of FoCP and International Ambassador for the World Cancer Declaration of the Union for International Cancer Control
- The Pink Caravan Ride is a humanitarian initiative based on volunteering and community responsibility has contributed to dispersing the myths of cancer in UAE
