North India Tourism
North India is a region in the northern part of India. It includes the states Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. It also includes the Union Territory Chandigarh and Delhi. Delhi is the capital of the India. Chandigarh is the well planned city of the India.
It has a diverse culture, and includes the Hindu pilgrimage centers of Char Dham, Haridwar, Mathura, Allahabad and Varanasi, the Buddhist Mahabodhi Temple, the Sikh Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab. It houses the world heritage sites such as the Valley of flowers, Qutb Minar, Taj Mahal etc. Folk dances like the bhangra of the Punjab, rouf and bhand pather of Kashmir are quite famous. Jammu and Kashmir is known as the paradise of the India.
The states Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh houses the famous hill stations like Kullu, Manali, Shimla, Dharamsala, Palampur, Mussoorie, Dehradun, Nainital etc. Some other famous cities are Gurgaon, Kurukshetra, Jammu, Ladakh(Leh), Srinagar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar etc
Delhi is the capital of the India. Here the “President House”, “Parliament House” and “Supreme court” of India are situated. Places to visit in Delhi are India Gate, Akshardham (Swaminarayan) Temple, Birla Temple(Laxmi Narayan Temple), Chandni Chowk, Jantar Mantar, Qutub Minar, Connaught Place, Rajghat etc.
Chandigarh is the Union Territory. It is the capital of the Indian states of Punjab and Haryana. It is the best-planned city in India, with architecture which is world-renowned,and a quality of life, which is unparalleled. Places to visit are Chandi Mandir, City Museum, International Dolls Museum, Cactus Garden etc. This green city rightly called “THE CITY BEAUTIFUL”
Haryana also refer to the lush green landscape. The main cities includes Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Kurukshetra, Rohtak etc. The city of Gurgaon has rapidly emerged as a major hub for the information technology and automobile industries. Kurukshetra is the major pilgrimage hub.
Himachal Pradesh was anciently known as Dev Bhumi (The Abode of Gods) and is abundance in natural beauty. It houses many famous hill stations like Dharamsala, Kullu, Manali, Palampur, Shimla, Kangra etc. You will encounter vast tracts of the Trans Himalayan region, dense deodar forests, snow capped mountains and apple orchards on your way to Himachal Pradesh. It is famous for handicrafts, hand woven carpets and shawls.
Jammu and Kashmir is the most beautiful state in the India. It is also called as paradise of the India. With mouth watering cuisines, luxury boat houses, shikara and divine valleys to visit, there can never be a dull moment in Jammu and Kashmir. Uttar Pradesh is often referred to as U.P. The main cities in U.P. are Agra, Allahabad, Lucknow, Mathura, Varanasi (Banaras), Kanpur. Tajmahal in Agra is the most famous place in the world. It is one of the seven wonders. Varanasi is famous for its pilgrimage places. Other famous places in the state are Fatehpur Sikri,Kaiserbagh Palace, Shaheed Smarak etc
Uttarakhand is often referred to as the Land of Gods due to the many holy Hindu temples. The famous cities are Haridwar, Mussoorie, Dehradun, Nainital etc. It is famous for its hill stations.It offers adventure sports such as trekking, skiing and rafting to wildlife safaris to holy pilgrimages etc. Haridwar is the one of the holiest pilgrimage in India, situated in this state. Famous places are Jim Corbett National Park, Mall Road, Naini(Nainital) Lake, Mussoorie Lake, Doon Valley etc
