New survey to identify families’ needs in UAE

A study that will examine and identify families’ social and economic needs was launched in Abu Dhabi.
The Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi (DCD), in cooperation with the Family Development Foundation (FDF), introduced the survey that will allow decision-makers to develop social programmes and ensure everyone gets to live a decent life. “The study contributes to identifying the characteristics of families and the factors associated with social problems,” FDF director-general Mariam Mohammed Al-Rumaithi said during the launch.
Dr Mona Al Bahar, an adviser at the DCD, explained that the study will serve as a major tool to identify the psychological, social and economic factors that affect decision-making among individuals and families.
Dr Mugheer Al Khaili, chairman of the DCD, said the department is determined to bolster the role of the social sector in the Capital.
“The department is also working on exploring the future of the social sector through a set of scientific research tools, which will enable us to provide decision-makers with accurate results.”
