New Dubai Road Opens

The Road and Transport Authority has opened a new road this Friday. The road has helped reduce the traffic time between Shaikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Street straight from 12 minutes down to 2.5 minutes.
The traffic on the road should now be a breeze. The opening had happened this Friday, June 8. The new road is more likely to make driving around the Business Bay and towards Al Quoz, Dubai Mall and the Dubai International Financial Centre significantly easier. This also made more improvements between the Al Meydan and Financial Streets.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has assured the motorists that there shall be no more traffic and one would not have to face any more traffic snarls as the journey and the time to travel between Shaikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Street should be drastically cut down from 12 to 2.5 minutes.
The RTA had also released earlier on Thursday an awareness video that explains how the motorists can benefit from taking this road. This road is referred to as the Parallel Roads Improvement Project.
The video goes on to state that their main aim is to “ease the pressure of traffic on Happiness Street.” The video goes on to further mention, “The project will cover improvements to the area, extending between Al Meydan Road and Financial Centre Road across the Business Bay District, comprising of three to four lanes in each direction. The traffic flow will ease with the construction of a 240-metre flyover at the intersection of Happiness Street and Burj Khalifa Boulevard Road, along with a 535-metre underpass at the intersection of Happiness Street and Al Khaleej Road.”
The road also has the capacity to have the vehicles increased to 20,000 per hour on both directions of Meydan Street at rush hours.
