National Holiday Announced in UAE for Isra’a Wal Mi’raj

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has announced that Sunday, 23rd April, 2017, is an official holiday for Ministries and other Federal Authorities to mark the ‘Israa and Miraj’ holiday, with work resuming on Monday, 24th April.
A circular issued by the authority stated that the decision is in implementation of the provisions of Paragraph 5 of Article 100 of Cabinet Resolution No.13 of 2012 and regulations of the Decree of Federal Law No.11 of 2008 on human resources in the Federal Government, and its amendments, which defines the public holidays of Ministries and Federal Authorities in the country.

However, the Ministry of Human Resource and Emiratization declared Saturday, 22nd April an official holiday for private sector entities that take Fridays only as the weekly holiday while entities taking Fridays and Saturdays as the official weekly holiday will have Sunday 23rd April an off day to mark Al Isra’a Wal Mi’raj.
On the occasion, the authority congratulated President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and the Rulers of the Emirates.
It also congratulated the people of the UAE and the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion.
