Nakheel to Make Dubai Greener with ‘Forests’ Under Bridges
- Nakheel, in ties with Brand Dubai, announced a new project on 3rd June, 2017, to beautify Dubai with ‘forests’
- The development by Nakheel will involve bridges decorated with forests underneath, in the form of trees supporting the bridge
- The first ‘forest’ bridge has already been implemented of the underside of the bridge leading to the East Crescent on Palm Jumeirah
- In line with the #DubaiSpeakstoYou initiative, art projects will be implemented across the city with a long-term plan to transform Dubai into an open-air art museum
- Nakheel is a mega developer based in Dubai, one of the largest in the world, whose major projects include Palm Jumeirah, The World islands, Jumeirah Village, Jumeirah Heights and many more
- Brand Dubai is the creative arm of the government-run Dubai Media Office, responsible for the design and beautification of the city
- ‘Dubai Speaks To You’ is a Brand Dubai initiative, launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, wherein developers create spaces for local and global artists to display works of art, be it street art, installations, photography or sculpture
- With impressive, illuminated high rises and lush green gardens already adding to Dubai’s appeal, a number of beautification projects are in the pipeline and will soon propel it to the next level
- By combining the strengths of mega developers in the UAE and the brains behind the designing of Dubai, the Media Office believes that the projects will highlight various aspects of Dubai’s rich diversity and pioneering spirit
