More Indian Passport Holders to get UAE Visa on Arrival

- UAE has approved a decision to grant visa on arrival to Indian passport holders with residence visa from UK and the European Union
- The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
- The decision comes within the framework of the long-term strategic partnership between UAE and India, to strengthen political, economic and trade interests
- In the meeting, the cabinet also approved the law replacing minor penalties with community service work for the benefit of the society
- The Cabinet of UAE is the chief executive of the country, formed following the inception of the UAE federation in 1971
- Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai
- There are over 2 million Indian migrants in UAE, constituting the largest part of population of the country
- A majority of Indians live in the three largest cities of UAE — Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah
- Earlier in 2017, the UAE Cabinet approved a decision to grant Indian passport holders with either a valid US visa or a green card a visa on arrival
