Middle East’s ‘largest Chinatown’ being built in Dubai

Dubai is a city that is known for the biggest of everything. It indeed is and this time they are looking forth to building the Middle East’s largest Chinatown. The announcement of this development is made just before the historic visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The final built out looks like it is going to be great. The announcement of Middle East’s largest Chinatown coincides along with the historic visit of President Xi Jinping of China to the UAE. The official visit is said to last for 3 days starting from July 19.
There will be renowned brands from China that will be elaborately featured across the 6 sq. km mega-development at Dubai Creek Harbour along with some of the other major fashion brands that resonate well with all other kinds of shoppers.
The images have been shared by the developer of the upcoming new and improved, much larger Chinatown than that of what is presently present. And by the looks of it, the up and coming Chinatown looks very modern, upmarket and quite fresh indeed. One can pretty much picture themselves walking around it.
Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Emaar Properties said, “The UAE and China share strong bilateral trade and cultural relations, which are bolstered by the presence of over 200,000 Chinese citizens who live in the UAE and the hundreds of thousands of Chinese visitors that the nation welcomes annually.”
Further adding, “The development of the new Chinese retail and lifestyle district at Dubai Creek Harbour highlight our commitment to the country, and our focus on contributing to the strength and success of UAE-China relations.”
The project is still underway and is being built by Emaar Properties. The final date of the launch of the project has still not yet been revealed by Emaar. Further details should be released in the coming months.
In the ambiance of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit, Emaar has also revealed that they shall be launching their developments in three other new cities in China – Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. This is to promote the trading and strengthen the relationships between China and UAE.
Now, it is safe to say that Dubai will have its very own Chinatown and that too, the biggest one that there is in the entire Middle East. We can’t wait to see how it turns out to be.
