Lulu Group Donates AED 1 Million to Emirates Red Crescent

- The Lulu Group International has announced an annual donation of AED 1 million to support the Emirates Red Crescent’s humanitarian and development programmes for ten years
- The chairman of the Lulu Group International, M.A. Yusuff Ali, has launched this initiative in line with the Year of Giving
- Dr Mohammed Al Falahi, secretary-general of the ERC, was presented with a cheque of AED 1 million from the chairman of the Lulu Group at an event held at the headquarters of ERC
- The Lulu group has asserted that it is a permanent partner and fundamental supporter of ECR’s programmes, both inside and outside the UAE
- The Lulu Group International is one of the largest and fastest growing retail outlets in the world, especially in Asia, with a wide number of chain stores, supermarkets, hypermarkets and even a mall under its name
- The Emirates Red Crescent is a volunteer organisation initiated in 1983 with the support of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which aims to provide humanitarian support to people in need and authorities during war times
- The Year of Giving was initiated in UAE at the end of 2016, by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of UAE
- The Year of Giving has three main objectives which inspire organisations all over UAE to participate – corporate social responsibility, volunteering and serving the nation
- The Lulu Group International has expressed its keenness to respond to the call of humanitarian duty and interact with the initiatives of the ERC, as it strongly believes in the ERC’s role to rescue victims all over the world
