Long weekend for UAE to mark Prophet’s birthday

Sunday, December 11 will be a paid holiday for public and private sector employees in the UAE as the country celebrates the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday.
The day is a public holiday for all ministries and federal government entities.
Work will resume on Monday, December 12, according to a circular released by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.
Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, made the announcement for private sector employees on Wednesday.
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources conveyed its most sincere congratulations and wishes to President Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, as well as to all the Rulers of the emirates.
The Authority also conveyed its best wishes to the people of the UAE, as well as all Arab and Muslim people.
