Let’s Strengthen Our Relations, say UAE, Egypt

Ministers from the UAE and Egypt have discussed ways of bolstering cooperation between the two countries. Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development, and Sahar Nasr, Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation, met on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi.
Shaikha Lubna, who also chairs the UAE Committee for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid, said the UAE’s aid to Egypt in 2014 stood at Dh11.7 billion, accounting for 52 per cent of the country’s foreign aid.
In the past five years (2010-2014), the UAE’s aid to Egypt stood at a little over Dh29 billion, accounting for 48.6 per cent of the country’s foreign aid. She said the aid was used mainly for Egypt’s development projects. Details
