Here are some of the best photos that have captured the weekend’s lunar eclipse and blood moon

The rare celestial event had social media buzzing positively around with many of the best photos being shared a multiple number of times and some of them even made it to the headlines for the beauty in the art of capturing such rare historical moments.
This weekend, the longest lunar eclipse to have ever occurred in the 21st Century took place and Dubai was no doubt indeed one of the top destinations in the world to witness this in person. This news alone was enough to have most of the residents to head out of their homes during the summer season this Friday evening and click some world class shots. Most of them made it easily into Instagram. Obviously.
The eclipse lasted for one hour, 42 minutes and 57 seconds. Apart from the eclipse being the longest as well, the boon had undergone a phase that is known as ‘blood moon’. This is where the moon changes the colour of its normal white hue to an almost deep blood-like red hue. This colour comes in as a result of the sun’s rays being reflected right through the planet’s atmosphere.
In case you had missed it, here are some of our favorite shots that were clicked that evening.
