Hazy Skies and Dust Storms to hit UAE
- Cloud cover will increase during the days, especially over eastern and northern parts of UAE, the National Centre of Meteorology has forecast
- NCMS also warned of dust clouds over some exposed areas due to north-westerly winds which could reach speeds of 40kmph
- Maximum temperatures across the country could reach 29°C, while it could drop to as little as 8°C in some areas
- Moderate to fresh north-westerly wind will blow becoming strong at times over the sea, which can cause blowing of dust over the exposed areas
- The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) is engaged in the study of a broad range of atmospheric phenomena and processes to determine climatic conditions in UAE
- UAE faces heat and tropical climate for the most part of the year, but winter months come around from December till March
- Average minimum temperatures during the winter months in UAE are between 10 and 14 °C (50 and 57 °F)
- While winters are cool, rainfall in UAE is moderate to sparse; rains occur on an average of five days in the year
- On 28th December 2004, there was snow in the UAE for the very first time, in the Jebel Jais mountain cluster
