Global forensic conference in Dubai next year
Dubai Police will organise a global conference of the world’s top forensic experts in April next year.
The Emirates Forensic Conference and Exhibition was announced after an agreement was signed between Dubai Police and INDEX Holding at the Dubai Police Headquarters on Wednesday.
Maj Gen Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, said experts will convene to exchange experiences and transfer knowledge in this domain for the benefit of police work, public prosecutors, and the judicial sector.
The conference will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Maj Gen Al Mazeina assured that the conference and exhibition will be an opportunity to raise the awareness level of forensic science and criminology in the region. The event aims to bring together experts from Asia, Africa, Europe and the American continent on a single platform to support the development in forensic science. This will happen through the submitted research and scientific papers that will be discussed during the conference, and through the participating companies in the exhibition, who will put on display the latest equipment and solutions in the field of Forensic Science and Criminology.
Maj Gen Al Mazeina added that the conference and exhibition will strengthen the mutual work in the field of forensic science and criminology on the national level. This will happen through the participation of the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Interior, Public Prosecutions and courts. The event will also update university students on the latest research and relevant technologies and will help create an opportunity for them to participate actively and gain experience.
Dr Abdul Salam Al Madani, chairman of INDEX Holding, said: “The Emirates Forensic Conference and Exhibition is designed to be an annual event. We also have a 10-year strategic plan for this event to be revised annually with the organisation committee, mainly to promote the event globally until it becomes the leading specialised conference in crime and forensic sciences in the world.”
