Fuel Prices in UAE Hiked From August 2017

- UAE’s Ministry of Energy has announced that fuel prices in the UAE have been increased for the month of August 2017
- Unleaded gasoline 98 will now cost AED 1.89 per litre, up from AED 1.86 in July
- Unleaded gasoline 95 has been increased from AED 1.75 to AED 1.78 per litre, while unleaded gasoline 91 has increased from AED 1.68 to AED 1.71 per litre
- The price of diesel has been increased by four fils to AED 1.88 per litre, compared to AED 1.84 in July
- Fuel prices in UAE are changing for the fifth consecutive month in August 2017
- As of July 2017, a litre of Super 98 costed AED 1.86, Special 95 was priced at AED 1.75 for a litre, a litre of E Plus was AED 1.68, and diesel costed AED 1.84
- Before August 2015, when the Ministry of Energy began liberalizing fuel prices, fuel prices were more varied – Super 98 cost AED 1.72 a litre while Diesel cost AED 2.90
- Petrol and diesel prices in UAE have been steadily declining over the months in 2017, but residents don’t find that it makes a difference because of the increasing cost of living
