Etihad Flights Will Soon Have Super Speed Wifi

- Wi-Fly, a superfast internet service with none of the buffering that slows down current inflight communication, is likely to be available on Eithad aircrafts from late 2018
- Etihad has partnered with satellite operator Yahsat and telecom company du with the aim of revolutionising onboard links
- Satellite signals will be pulled in by two antenna enclosed within a dome fixed near the plane’s tail wing and a router inside the aircraft will transmit the wi-fi
- When launched in 2018-19, the high speed connections will initially be available in the Middle East, Asia and Africa and will grow with Yahsat’s expanding coverage
