Emirates Issues A Flight Caution In The Wake Of The Sri Lanka Attacks

After suffering 35 years of war, Sri Lanka Attacks is least expected on Easter Sunday, the day Jesus resurrected!!
As death toll rose over 290 lives and more than 500 injured in Sri Lanka Attacks, the Easter Sunday blasts across the country cannot be forgotten quickly. This is the biggest act of violence seen in over a decade after the country was embroiled in a bitter civil-war. Following the series of bomb blasts that struck Catholic Churches and five star hotels in Colombo, Emirates has issued a flight caution.
Flight Caution
After blasts ripped through hotels and churches in Colombo on Easter Sunday, UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has urged Emiratis to postpone their Sri Lanka travel plans. Not only that, it tweeted a brief statement calling upon all Emiratis in Sri Lanka to travel back too. Even though flights between Colombo and Dubai are continuing as scheduled, passengers have been warned of lengthy delays. Also, there was a similar tweet from national carrier Sri Lankan Airlines that advised all passengers of all airlines flying out of Colombo to report to the airport four hours early. Though Sri Lankan authorities had imposed curfew until 6 am this morning, the airline assured travelers that they could to get to the airport even during the curfew by producing their air tickets and passports to security forces and checkpoints.
Temporary Social Media Ban in Sri Lanka
Whereas, a nationwide curfew was declared in Colombo to immediate effect, the Sri Lankan government also blocked major social media networks and messaging apps. Facebook and WhatsApp inside the country stands banned to prevent misinformation and rumors.
UAE Condemns Sri Lanka Blasts
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, strongly condemned the heinous terrorist attacks that targeted churches and hotels in Colombo. He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the people of Sri Lanka as he tweeted.
