Emirates: First Airline to introduce VR seats
Emirates Airlines is the first airliner in the world to have VR seats literally installed on their airliner. The introduction of VR technology into their flights now allows flyers to check out seats and also plan on even boarding the aircraft.
The greatest form of travelling when booking a flight is when you can see beforehand the interiors of your aircraft and choose the seat before departure. It does not just make sure that the hassles of waiting in a long queue is taken care of, it also makes sure that one can also get the window seat, or one of the aisles or whatever seat is it they prefer.
Emirates has taken things to quite another level by introducing just another 3D seat models on their portals thereby allowing their passengers to check out very much in advance before they have even boarded the plane.
By using the VR technology, flyers can now simply go to the airline’s website using their PC or their cell phones or any internet supporting hand held devices and visualize the interior of the Emirates A380 and the Emirates Boeing 777. It is quite an immersive experience for customers can virtually enter the plane and check each and every place of the plane and do a thorough scrutinization. Passengers can also navigate through the Business, Economy and first-class sections. The visitors can also check out the Emirates’ iconic double-decker aircraft such as the onboard lounge and the shower spa.
Emirates’ senior vice president, corporate communications, marketing and brand (digital), Alex Knigge stated that, “As we continually invest to provide our customers with an unmatched travel experience onboard and on the ground, we also work very hard to give our customers a world-class digital experience. We are pleased to be the world’s first airline to introduce this cutting-edge web VR technology, which offers our customers an immersive opportunity to learn more about the Emirates experience before they step on board.”
