Eid Al Fitr on Wednesday in UAE

Wednesday, July 6, is the first day of Eid Al Fitr, as Tuesday is the last day of Ramadan, the UAE Moon Sighting Committee has announced, WAM has reported.
The announcement came after the committee held a meeting on Monday evening after Maghreb prayer at the Judiciary Department in Abu Dhabi.
The committee, headed by Sultan Bin Saeed Al Badi, Minister of Justice, said that after a number of legitimate measures, as well as several contacts with neighbouring countries, it was established that Tuesday is the last day of Ramadan, and Wednesday is the first day of Shawwal, marking the first day of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE.
Al Badi and the committee members extended greetings to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates and Crown Princes, as well as the people of UAE and Muslims.

Saudi media reports said July 5, Tuesday will be the last day of Ramadan. Acoordingly, July 6, Wednesday is the first day of Shawwal, marking the start of Eid Al Fitr, said a Saudi official statement.
